Teen Improv Workshops to Manage Anxiety

BEGINS:         June 2, 2019 (program consists of 7 sessions in total, with no session on the July 1 long weekend)

Location:    Chancellors Way Medical Arts Centre (CareWell Health Group Studio)

When:            Sundays from 12pm-3pm (age group 10-13) and 3:30pm-6:30pm (age 14-18)

Program:      This workshop is designed to enable kids and teens to discover methods to manage social anxiety. The program is designed to provide a safe place, free of judgment, that will allow participants to obtain an understanding of anxiety causation and the tools that can be used control it.  A medical doctor and specially trained facilitator from the Making Box will lead the group in exercises in a fun and welcoming environment.

Participation in all exercises is not mandatory, but participants must at least watch and attend all sessions.

No medical referral for this program is required, but space is limited to 10-12 participants for each workshop. Registration is on a first come first serve basis.

Parents or guardians of participants will be required attend the first 20 minutes of the first session and complete a short survey at the end of the program.

Parking Update

We are now allowing University of Guelph students to park on the East side of the parking lot during the daytime. On-site parking is available. Rates are $2 for the first hour, $1 per additional hour with a MAX charge of $5 per day

Physical Medicine Update

Dr. El-Sherbini (Physiatrist) is now accepting family physician referrals for his Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation practice at CareWell Health Group. He specializes in the treatment of chronic pain, sports injuries and complex neuromuscular injuries. Physicians can fax referrals to: 519-341-9254.
