Ms. Lauralea Lloyd MSW, RSW
Lauralea is a Professional Clinical Social Worker. She is a Registered member of the Ontario College of Social Workers as well as the Ontario Association of Social Workers.
Lauralea started her career as a Child and Youth Worker (CYW), helping children and teens with emotional and behavioural problems as well as parents facing challenging behavior from their children to better manage. She went on to get a Bachelor of Social Work degree (BSW) from Ryerson University and a Masters of Social Work degree (MSW) from the University of Toronto specializing in clinical counselling with individuals, couples and groups.
Lauralea has 25 years experience and has done a wide range of additional training and Professional Development related to treating mental health related concerns. She has worked in outpatient psychiatry, family counselling agencies and addictions treatment. She has also worked and provided clinical counselling services at the Ontario Works office, Employee Assistance programs, in the community and in her private practice where she treats individuals and couples. She has facilitated group programs for depression, anxiety, stress management, and addictions.
Lauralea uses a wide variety of treatment approaches, most often drawing from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and Mindfulness Based Therapies. Overall, she uses a combination of approaches to best suit the person, their needs and issues. She provides a positive, empathic and non-judgmental environment to resolve your difficulties and build skills for healing and change.
